34 effect shots (30 matte paint comp & 4 fix) completed by me in aprx. 200 hours
with flame 2009 on linux at Sinefekt.
If you examine the before-after frames you'll see that its not a greenbox or the forground objecs are not infront of a flat background. A huge amount of roto job done for these shots. There are also depth of field animations, matching of lens effects like lens breathing ,lens deformation, vignetting etc. There are motion blurred and transparent details like feathers and ropes that are very difficult to roto.
